How We Curate

The standard behind every work you see on Artemble

Curation at Artemble is not algorithmic. There is no scoring system, no follower count threshold, no price point that guarantees entry. Every application is read by a person, considered carefully, and decided with one question in mind: does this work belong in a serious collection?

1

The Application

Artists apply through a single, straightforward form. They share their biography, their practice, examples of their work, and their pricing. We ask them to tell us what they are trying to achieve - not commercially, but artistically. What is the work about? What is it for?

2

The Review

Every application is reviewed by Artemble's curatorial team. We look at technical mastery - can this artist do what they are attempting to do? We look at originality - is this work genuinely the artist's own vision, or is it derivative? And we look at coherence - does the body of work hold together as a practice, or is it scattered?

3

The Decision

Fewer than one in ten applications are accepted. When we decline, we do so with respect - we write individually to explain our decision and encourage artists to apply again as their practice develops. When we accept, we commit: to presenting the work with care, to finding it the right collectors, and to supporting the artist's career.

4

The Ongoing Standard

Acceptance is not permanent. Artemble maintains its curatorial standard continuously. Works that no longer meet our quality threshold are removed. Artists who misrepresent their work are removed. The standard that protects collectors also protects every artist who maintains it.
